VIJAYAWADA — A highly sensitive investigation has been launched in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh after local authorities exhumed the body of a 14-year-old minor girl who passed away under mysterious circumstances.
According to statements released by the high-ranking law enforcement officials overseeing the sub-division, the deceased was a student pursuing her ninth-grade education.
Chronology of the Secret Burial and Police Intervention
According to Gannavaram Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kosuri Dharmendra, the 14-year-old girl died unexpectedly at her residential home on June 28.
The calculated secrecy surrounding the disposal of the remains unraveled when the minor girl’s biological mother approached the law enforcement mechanism.
The Exhumation Process and Forensic Protocol
To establish the baseline truth behind the mother's allegations, law enforcement secured official administrative sanctions to conduct a full exhumation of the burial site. A specialized multi-departmental team converged on the Vempadu village burial ground to execute the legal excavation.
The critical exhumation process was conducted under the direct supervision of:
Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO): Ms. Vimala, serving as the executive magistrate to ensure strict legal compliance.
Police Command: Gannavaram Circle Inspector Shiva Prasad, leading the tactical security and security cordons.
Medical Experts: A dedicated team of state government doctors and forensic practitioners tasked with handling the biological remains.
The medical team systematically recovered the highly sensitive mortal remains and physical biological samples directly from the exhumed site. Due to the advanced state of decomposition following the multi-day burial delay, immediate on-site visual autopsies could not yield definitive conclusions regarding external or internal physical trauma.
Official Investigative Focus: "The recovered biological samples and mortal remains have been sealed under strict chain-of-custody protocols and dispatched immediately to the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) in Mangalagiri.
The toxicological and forensic chemical analysis reports will serve as the sole scientific foundation to determine whether the minor suffered fatal poisoning, physical asphyxiation, or succumbed to natural health complications."
Current Status of the Criminal Inquiry
The Unguturu police station has cordoned off the residential site and the burial area to preserve any remaining circumstantial trace evidence. Detectives are currently conducting rigorous rounds of interrogation involving the immediate family members who actively participated in digging the grave and executing the secret burial on June 28.
Law enforcement is trying to establish the specific motive behind bypassing the legal system: whether the family panicked due to rigid societal stigmas surrounding sudden deaths of young girls, or if there was a deliberate criminal conspiracy to destroy vital physical evidence of a homicide or forced suicide. Further legal charges, including sections dealing with murder, abetment, or causing the disappearance of evidence, will be dynamically added to the current FIR once the definitive APFSL chemical reports are made available to the state prosecutors.
