Receiving board examination results can bring a mix of relief and unexpected surprises. For many students who appeared for the CBSE Class 12 board examinations, the final scores might not fully reflect the hard work put in throughout the academic year. To maintain complete transparency, the Central Board of Secondary Education provides a structured mechanism allowing students to access their evaluated papers.
Understanding the Sequential Three-Stage Process
The board enforces a strict sequential framework for post-result review. A common mistake among applicants is attempting to jump straight to rechecking a specific response. However, you cannot request a final question-by-question review without completing the preliminary stages.
Stage 1: Verification of Marks: The board checks for totaling errors and ensures that no answer was left unmarked by the examiner.
Stage 2: Obtaining Scanned Answer Scripts: Students receive a digital photocopy of their evaluated answer booklet via their secure login portal.
Stage 3: Re-evaluation: This final stage allows students to challenge the marking of specific questions based on the official answer keys.

| Post-Result Service Stage | 2026 Application Window| Revised Fee Structure |
+-----------------------------------+-----------------------+------------------------+
| 1. Scanned Answer Sheet Photocopy | May 19 to May 24, 2026| ₹100 per subject |
| 2. Verification of Marks | May 26 to May 29, 2026| ₹100 per subject |
| 3. Re-evaluation Per Question | May 31 to June 5, 2026| ₹25 per question |

Important Update: To make the mechanism highly student-friendly and accessible, CBSE has heavily reduced the processing fees by up to 85% this year.
The answer sheet copy and verification fees have been slashed to ₹100, while individual question re-evaluations cost just ₹25. Furthermore, if a student's marks increase during the final stages, the re-evaluation fee is fully refunded.
