Bhopal Minor Girl Was Raped by Two Men, SIT Formed After Complaint.

The incident came to light in early February 2026 in Bhopal. According to police records, the Class 11 student filed her complaint on 2 February 2026, after which authorities began immediate action. The first accused was arrested on 3 February, followed by the arrest of the second accused on 8 February 2026. Police have indicated that the alleged incidents occurred shortly before the complaint was lodged, though the exact dates have not been publicly disclosed as the investigation is still ongoing.

What Has Been Reported So Far

Police in Bhopal have arrested two men following a complaint filed by a minor student earlier this month.

According to the FIR and official statements:

  • The girl, a Class 11 student, alleged that one of the accused befriended her and later took her to isolated locations in a vehicle.

  • She has alleged that she was sexually assaulted and that the incident was recorded.

  • The recorded video was allegedly used to threaten her and demand money. Investigators say a portion of the demanded amount was paid under pressure.

  • The complaint also includes allegations that the victim was pressured in matters relating to religious conversion.

Police have seized four vehicles believed to have been used during the incidents. Digital evidence is being examined, and efforts are ongoing to recover electronic devices allegedly involved.

Accused and Legal Provisions

The two accused — identified by police as Ausaf Ali Khan and Mohammad Maaz Khan — are currently in custody.

The case has been registered under:

  • The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act)

  • Relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including those related to sexual assault, criminal intimidation, and extortion

  • The Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act

  • Applicable provisions of the Information Technology Act

Authorities have stated that the charges reflect the seriousness of the allegations. The accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

SIT Formed by State Government

The government led by Mohan Yadav has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a comprehensive probe.

Officials said the SIT will:

  • Examine the sequence of events

  • Review electronic and financial evidence

  • Determine whether any additional victims may be involved

  • Assess whether the case reflects an isolated incident or a broader pattern

Some public discourse has referenced the historic Ajmer rape case, but police have not confirmed any organized network in the current case. The comparison has been cited mainly in the context of ensuring a thorough investigation.

Investigation Continues

Authorities have emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that findings will be based on evidence collected by the SIT. Further developments are expected as forensic and digital examinations progress.
