Gurugram, June 21, 2026: A road rage incident on Gurugram's busy Sohna Road has sparked concerns over rising traffic-related violence after two young men were arrested for allegedly attacking a Delhi-based driver and vandalizing his vehicle following a dispute over road space.
The incident occurred when Abhishek Chaudhary, who was driving his MG Windsor EV, reportedly encountered a Mahindra Scorpio SUV that was weaving through traffic. According to Chaudhary, the occupants of the SUV became aggressive after he refused to give way on the crowded road.
What began as a routine traffic disagreement quickly escalated into a dangerous confrontation. The SUV occupants allegedly chased Chaudhary's vehicle from Sohna Road toward Rajiv Chowk, one of Gurugram's busiest intersections. Upon intercepting his car, the accused reportedly attacked the vehicle with a metal rod, smashing windows and causing significant damage.
Despite the frightening situation, Chaudhary managed to record portions of the attack on his mobile phone. The video reportedly captured key details of the incident and helped preserve crucial evidence for investigators. He also noted the registration numbers associated with the SUV, identified as DL 3EV 7707 and HR 98 U 0077, before immediately contacting the police.
Acting swiftly on the complaint and evidence provided by the victim, Gurugram Police launched an investigation. Within hours, officers tracked down and arrested two suspects identified as Parth and Paras, both 22-year-old BBA graduates residing in Sector 48, Gurugram.
During preliminary questioning, the accused allegedly admitted that the altercation originated from a dispute over not being given passage in traffic. However, police stated that the disagreement escalated beyond a verbal exchange and turned into an act of violence and vandalism.
