In what proved to be a grueling first innings for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) utilized their home conditions to perfection, restricting the visitors to a modest total of 159/6. At 131/6 in the 19th over, it looked like RR might fail to cross the 150-mark. However, Ravindra Jadeja showed why he remains one of the best finishers in the game. Jadeja’s unbeaten 43 off 29 balls*, punctuated by a massive six off the final delivery, provided the much-needed momentum.
Supported by a breezy 19 from Shubham Dubey*, RR managed to claw their way to 159. While it is below the par score for many venues, the history of the Ekana Stadium suggests that 160 is a very competitive total, especially with spinners like Ravi Bishnoi waiting to bowl in the second half.
