Odisha 10th Result 2026: ₹50,000 Reward for Top Students Under Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar?

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, officially released the Class 10th results on May 2, 2026. While the pass percentage has shown a significant upward trend, the spotlight is now on the Odisha Government's massive incentive programs. To encourage academic excellence, the state has finalized the rollout of the Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar, offering up to ₹50,000 in cash prizes to the state's brightest minds.

Under this initiative, the government aims to recognize talent not just at the state capital level, but down to the block and district levels. This ensure that students from rural backgrounds who have excelled in the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations receive the financial support needed for their higher secondary education.

The Breakdown of Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar Rewards

The reward system is structured into three distinct tiers to ensure wide coverage of meritorious students:

  1. State Level Recognition: The top 100 students across Odisha will receive a prestigious citation and a cash prize of ₹50,000 each.

  2. District Level Merit: Toppers in each of the 30 districts are eligible for a reward of ₹10,000.

  3. Block Level Incentives: To ensure grassroots motivation, the top students in every block will be granted ₹5,000.

Apart from the Shikhya Puraskar, the Godabarisha Vidyarthi Protsahana Yojana remains a major highlight. Instead of physical laptops, the government is continuing the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of ₹30,000 to the bank accounts of meritorious students to purchase a laptop of their choice.

Eligibility and How to Claim the Reward

To be eligible for these rewards, students must have secured a high percentage in the BSE Odisha 10th Board Exams 2026. Selection is primarily based on the merit list prepared by the board. It is crucial for students and parents to ensure that their Aadhaar card is linked to their bank account, as all disbursements are made via the DBT portal to maintain transparency.

Eligible students can track their status on the Odisha State Scholarship Portal. Usually, the Education Department coordinates with schools to verify the data of the top-performing students, so keeping in touch with the school headmaster is highly recommended.
