Understanding the 5-Category Fee System

VIT does not follow traditional reservation quotas. Instead, it uses a unique fee category system.

  • Category 1: Lowest tuition fees; usually closes under 1,500 rank for CSE at Vellore.

  • Category 5: Highest tuition fees; allows students with lower ranks to secure seats in popular branches like CSE.

Candidates must pay a non-refundable counseling fee of ₹5,900 to participate in the choice-filling process.
